National TPS Campaign Coordinator/Organizer

Full-Time Position Job Description

Campaign Coordinator/Organizer Responsibilities:

  • Work with the National TPS Alliance, members, and local TPS committees to grow and strengthen the national campaign
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for national campaign and local organizing work in Southern California
  • Supervise TPS organizing staff, day-to-day organizing, legislative and communication campaign activities
  • Work with campaign staff and the National TPS Alliance to strengthen relationships with campaign allies and supporters
  • Collaborate with both National TPS Alliance members and supporting organizations to train TPS community leaders and move the campaign’s legislative and organizing goals forward
  • Develop the necessary tools to conduct and/or coordinate organizing trainings with new and existing leaders
  • Lead, supervise and coordinate campaign actions and activities such as conferences, assemblies, rallies, marches, bus tours, etc.
  • Perform administrative tasks necessary for organizing such as maintaining databases, producing materials and correspondence
  • Act as campaign and project spokesperson
  • Any other duties/tasks as assigned


Candidate characteristics

  • A demonstrated commitment to elevating community leadership and voices, grassroots organizing, social justice and movement building
  • Previous organizing experience in labor, immigration, community, student, and/or social movement organizations or campaigns
  • Strong preference for individuals who are familiar with the political landscape of immigration and TPS communities and have prior experience organizing immigrant worker families
  • Strong coalition-building and facilitation skills
  • Experience in supervising and leading a team, campaign coordinator must be able provide day-to-day direction and leadership
  • Experience organizing community actions with broad participation
  • Experience building strong organizing through base building and leadership development
  • Strong preference for someone that is bilingual and bi-literate in English and Spanish
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work some weeknights and weekends
  • Willingness to travel out of state and country
  • Willingness to respond promptly to e-mails, phone calls, and other forms of communication
