FIX L.A. is a growing coalition of community groups, faith-based organizations, working people and others who call on Los Angeles city leaders to restore vital programs and services that have been cut in recent years because of recession pressures. We want to create and preserve good jobs that support families, and we work to stop Wall Street from gouging Los Angeles with excessive fees for financial services. We believe it is about time that the big banks and big corporations pay their fair share, which will finally allow Los Angeles to become the livable, diverse, world-class city it deserves to be.
Reclaiming revenue: We want to make the city maximize and reclaim revenue before making any cuts to programs that benefit communities and workers.
Restoring services: We work to restore neighborhood services cut out of the city budget in recent years in favor of fees that go to debt service and other financial obligations. We want renegotiation of those contracts to better manage resources.
- Creation of good jobs: We are committed to bringing stable, high-paying, blue- and white-collar jobs back Los Angeles.
Public Safety: We work with city government to make our low-income communities safer. Public safety in Los Angeles has become one of the most neglected priorities in recent years.
