Through a combination of technology education, interdisciplinary art studios, literacy and youth leadership programs, the education needs of Central American/Latino youth and families living in Pico Union/Koreatown are addressed through the following programs:

|||| After School & Family Integration
These interdisciplinary eight-week after school programs for Berendo middle school students are held Monday through Thursday. Education workshops include Introduction to Internet and Rap Session. Additionally, youth collaborate with local poets and writers to produce youth publications as part of CARECEN's literacy initiatives. During the eight-week sessions, parents and youth participate one-night a week in discussions pertaining to parenting and youth culture while developing communication and conflict-resolution skills. Art, poetry and technology components offer joint family activities exploring tolerance and cultural diversity.
